Philomot
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Oscar is stranded in the woods, a blizzard threatening to freeze him solid. Fortunately, he stumbles upon a lone mansion. It's residents are friendly enough, offering him dinner and a place to stay. While, they do have their fair share of eccentricities, who doesn't?
After such a difficult journey, Oscar is plagued with exhaustion, and can't seem to keep himself awake. The sleep that follows is anything but restful. Nightmares haunt him whenever he closes his eyes, each one seeming all to real to be a simple dream. Oscar managed to escape the storm, but his troubles are only about to begin. The walls hold many secrets, and if he isn't careful, he might just become one of them.
This is a demo build. I plan on releasing more of the story in the months to come. Alongside that, there are a lot of visual and auditory elements that I wanted to include but wasn't able to due to time constraints. Despite that, I hope you enjoy the experience. This is my first visual novel, and the first writing project I've released to the public. I appreciate any comments and criticisms. Thank you!!

Very magical atmosphere, until it turned dark at the end... Loved how detailed the art was and the refined, mysterious feel it gave off. Story was interesting too, leaving me curious about what'll happen next.
Well, this is not finished, but it’s a good start. An old mansion stuck in the past with weird inhabitants. Strange nightmares that paint the master of the house in a terrible light. This is quite intriguing. There are a number of typos and mistakes but not so much that it detracts from the good character voices (still, “aidou” instead of “adieu” was a bit much^^)
Visually, the backgrounds and CGs look stunning. They complement the story very well. The sprites are good as well. However, there are a few moments when we pass from a scene to the next without transition. The music is pretty good as well.
Overall, a great start and I definitely would look to see more. (The boy in the last “nightmare” is Jacques, isn’t he? And the girl mentioned is probably Marie-Anne.)
Thank you so much for the detailed comment! I'll admit that my editing process wasn't as thorough as I would've liked. I'm going to make a concerted effort to polish the next build before public release.
I'm glad you and others are excited for more content! I'm planning to release a polished (and slightly changed) edit of the first build at the end of the month. Though, it might have to wait depending on how the holidays affect my teams schedule. If it's not released this month, it will be included in the next build that I plan to release in late January. I will do my best to make it worth the wait.
wow, that was a haunting prologue, I'm certainly interested to see what happens next!
Just cinema! (The deer pose just reminds me hella about it XD)

Excellent, such an engrossing story. The artwork is beautiful. The full novel will be fantastic.
